         If you were to read the rest of the error message, it would be asking
 you if you wanted to schedule Chkdsk to run the next time you reboot the
 computer. Simply select this option, and then shutdown and restart the
 computer. (Chkdsk cannot scan a partition that's in use, so it has to
 scan the system partition at reboot, before Windows loads.)

Trouble is I have done this many times.

I have "scheduled Chkdsk to run the next time you reboot " but I cannot stop
it checking. Each and every time I start my computer I see the same ckecking
happen.
I have tried Msoft article" How to cancel CHKDSK After it has been scheduled
article id 159675. But according to I do not have a schedule set ie the reg
setting is as it ought to be.

I also ran a check fron "Run" fsutil dirty query D: (d is my problem ) I am
told drive is dirty. Just what to do now I cannot decide as the rest of the
instruction is double dutch to me. As a check I ran the test on my C drive
which was returned clean.

Do you think it will help if I run a Repair on my OS XP Home.
