What happens if you boot up while disconnected from your high speed
connection, then plug in after everyhting running? Does it restart then as
well? Is it an immediate restart (not a normal shutdown) or a blue screen?
Anything in the event viewer at the time of the shutdown?
My next guess (which is just a guess) is that it may be a device driver
conflict. Have you tried it with just a clean XP boot (nothing else at all
loaded, not even your software firewall)? Have you checked for updated
drivers for your network card?
I know, it's a lot of questions, but there's a lot to cover to un-cover the
issue.
