Is your PC an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), like
a Dell or Gateway ? If so, did you receive a packet with a copy
of Small business Office XP (Should have been a two disk set) ?

There are a number of things that can trigger a Office setup.
Did you notice a message that relates to "You are attempting to
use a feature that is not installed, would you like to install it now?"

This is a common issue that comes up quite a bit. To use Office
Update you have to have your original disks or a disk/network
install path. Microsoft uses this as a countermeasure to stop
"Casual Copying", where Office is installed but no source media
or hard drive source is available.

I suspect that this comes about when certain types & versions
of other .msi installer packages are run.

Can you open any other Office components ?, If so then you
could do a Help/Detect & Repair operation, but that would also
require access to the source media.
