Visualizations in the Media Player Version 10

Running XP Pro/SP2
1.7Ghz
768Mhz Ram
Pagefile set to 768
Nvidia GeForce2 MX 100/200
Over the last several weeks I have noticed that the
movement of the visualizations while playing music in the
Media Player go from smooth to stuttering, and freezing
for a few seconds. This is continous. The I played a DVD
and it too would stutter in the same fashion. I
downloaded a clip from the web and had the same result.
With my Pinnacle Movie software which uses it's own video
card, I note that while transferring data from a DV
camcorder the transfer preview is stuttering as well.
Most disturbing is that when I rendered the home video it
to picked up the stutter on playback.
Is my Nvidia Card on it's last legs?
Any help most appreciated.
