Hi Mike,
Are you able to change the default icon for .mp3 files, via Folder Options > File Types dialog?
-or-
Via the registry:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mp3file\DefaultIcon
Set (default) to "C:\PROGRA~1\WINDOW~2\wmplayer.exe,-120"
-or-
For Windows XP SP1 and above:
Set WMP as the default player in Add/Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults. This sets WMP as the default for most file types, and fixes the wrong icons.

Hi - for some reason all my MP3 icons have changed into a very very old version - like those in the early media players (like win95)..... looks very untidy in my folders ! mpeg and other sound and video extensions still look normal. Still opens in media player as normal though... odd. Anyone know where the options are to change the icons back?
