I was also looking to an answer for this, as I bought windows xp home
edition upgrade when it first came out for my old PC. however it didn't cope
too well with it and i unistalled. skip forward 3 or 4 years or whatever and
i have a new OEM PC which had windows xp preinstalled. if i ever reformat i
would like to install xp clean instead of using recovery cd. i understand
that this is possible using my old CD and old product key because a) it's not
in use anymore and b) been longer than 120 days.
i just want to check one thing though. you say you cannot install an OEM
disc on another PC, whatever the circumstances, but you can install a retail
disc on an OEM PC, right?
thank you
