1) On one of my machines (but not the other), hitting the Insert/Pause key
stops the action, and hitting any other key continues. Try this.
2) If this is a message you hadn't seen in the past, but has suddenly
appeared, chances are good that there's a problem with your keyboard, not
with the machine's "perception" of it. It's simple enough to test this by
borrowing another keyboard.
