Supposing that you mean "rebuild" and not "reboot" (which you likely do
every so often already) - why not tell us the reason you want to rebuild
your system and perhaps we can help you fix your problems?
"Rebuilding" or "Reinstalling" Windows XP will, in fact - make you "lose
Windows XP", at least the settings and such you are used to.
We really need more detail on what you are trying to accomplish in order to
assist you in any constructive manner.
