Once again, Yves is handing out half-truths.
The Recovery Console is NOT a DOS window in any way, shape, or form,
as DOS is not contained, in any way, shape or form in WinXP.
Further, the OP is probably not doing what they intend. Very few home
users have any need to use, or any inklin of how to use, the recovery
console. 99% of them enter it accidentally when they are attempting
to do a repair install and confuse it with the first "R" option. I
suspect that is the case here.
