First and foremost, the fact that an XP Home installation leaves the
Administrator account password *BLANK* - a hacker's dream come true!
(WTF were you thinking Microsoft?!?! Or rather, WTF? Were you even
THINKING, Microsoft?!?!) With internet security probably THE major
concern of the era I am frankly appalled at this!
Next, the inability to login as Administrator without booting to Safe
Mode. Pain in the proverbial @$$.
Next, the inability to disable Simple File Sharing (required for setting
specific NTFS file/folder permissions and network shares) without
booting to Safe Mode and logging in as Administrator. (PITA comes to
mind again.)
Next, the limit to 5 concurrent LAN connections to an XP Home host vs.
10 connections available in all other versions of Windows that I have
had experience with. Personaly, I have four PCs on my home LAN at this
time and plan to have more when and if I choose to do so. XP home is
definitely not for me.
Next, the inability to join a Windows domain or connect to other non-MS
network services (such as Netware, Citrix and Unix/Linux servers). Not a
big deal for home users, but I've lost count of how many people in our
organization (a large school district) bought or won (at a raffle or
some such nonsense) an XP Home PC that was completely useless on our
network.
There are others, I just don't recall them. Do a search for yourself.
