Thanks for your response. No, it isn't my CD/DVD ROM devices nor my media
that's the problem. As I stated, I've run into the same problem
notwithstanding the fact that I've used at least three different CD/DVD
players/recorders as well as a variety of CD-Rs on different machines, all
of which I've worked with for many months and know to be sound. And as I
stated, my friend has run into the identical problem as I with his
equipment/media. I've no problem booting from a bootable CD. I do it all the
time. The only plausible explanation would seem to be the particular build
(771) of ATI that both of us are using. I'll download a later build (which I
should have done before) ASAP. Thanks again for your input.
