Winxp crash on shutdown after being on for a few hours

Hey there,

I've had this problem with my winxp. It only happens when I've left
the computer on for more than a few hours. When I click 'turn off
computer' I loose my start menu and desktop icons for a second but the
wallpaper stays (I assume this is explorer.exe crashing and
restarting). Of course some the the system tray icons are missing
after the start menu comes back up with my desktop icons. I then have
to click on 'turn off computer' again etc and it will finally shut
down. Anyone have this problem? Any solutions? I've looked and
looked but all I find is problems where windows will restart
unexpectedly. It happened both before and after I installed sp2.
I've got all the latest updates, HDs are defraged, scaned for viruses
and cleaned out spyware.
