If this is XP Pro, make sure that Folder Options - View - 'use simple
file sharing' is *not* checked. Use a logon with Admin status
  If it is Home you will need to boot to Safe mode, and log on the
Administrator account.

R-click on the Destination folder concerned - highest level of them - ,
take Properties - Security, and make sure that the access permissions
allow your account (and SYSTEM) 'Full Control'. Apply and say yes to
'apply to subobjects'
