thanks for your help, but the task manager only runs stuff after a user has
logged in. it will not run tasks BEFORE the system begins to boot. to be
clear, i want to run a "dos" script that will run, for example: at the same
time, in the boot process, that chkdsk runs. NOT after the system has begun
to boot. it should not even get to the gui. it needs to run before windows
allocates any system resources to the hard drive so that no programs will be
in use.
