Computer hangs if I run any CD within 5-10 minutes

I have a new PC with Intel P4 3GHz HT and MSI 915 motherboard.
The problem is that when I run a CD from CD drive the PC hangs or
autometically restarts. Earlier that problen was not there.
I am using win xP sp2 as os.
Is it virus problem or driver conflicts or power supply/ heating problem?
