Intel got caught off-guard by AMD's 64-Bit processors. Plus the
last iteration of Pentiums are Hot enough to cook on. Then you
add the fact that Dell is considering AMD Opterons and you can
bet Intel is working day-and-night to re-capture the Processor lead.
I think Intel is dropping steps or modifying their CPU "Roadmap".
I haven't checked in a while, but I know Intel dropped plans for
some processor steps above 3.4 Gigahertz.
