Two choices:
As you said your personal stuff
And of course full drive backups are possible, all
depends on what you wish to protect.
With DVD burners it is now quite easy to perform total
backups on as little as two or three disks.
And with large add on hard drives you can send the backup
data right inside your machine.
I have an second internal 120G hard drive everything is
backed up there.
