Yes I forgot. Just the news://server should put that in your available newsserver accounts. I just always use the wizard in Microsoft Outlook Express and I just asumed that's what the op was trying to do.

Just msnews.microsoft.com. The news:// protocol is not used in that way. For example I will give you a link to a posted artcle: news://msnews.microsoft.com/1399B8BF-812F-4871-8D40-D4BF0E0F8DA0@microsoft.com If your default newserver is msnews.microsoft.com this will open the message. If your default newsserver is NOT msnews.microsoft.com then this link will try to find the message on your default newsserver (if you have one) won't find it and throw an error. The news:// protocol is a way to access a specific newspost on a server. Not the newsserver itself. You cannot do news://msnews.microsoft.com because the newsserver doesn't know how to reply to that. -- George Hester _________________________________ "rlmslo" <rlmslo@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1399B8BF-812F-4871-8D40-D4BF0E0F8DA0@microsoft.com... > I have been trying to log into news://msnews.microsoft.com for the last > several days-keep getting a message that "news cannot be found" after I > receive a message asking if I want to register.
