Folder duplicated as 'shared folder'

Made the mistake of trying to rename 'my documents' folder to 'Laura's
documents' for my daughter, which has stopped it coming up on the
start up screen. In the process I have somehow made this folder come
up as a shared folder under My Computer (alongside 'shared
documents'), duplicating the actual folder under her area (which is
under 'documents and settings). I think I can deal with the first
problem but can't work out how to stop the shared access - any clues?
Thanks
