Booting problem

Since I completely patched my WindowsXP with SP2, whenever I start, after the
splash, the system stops and appear an advisory tag which says (translation
from Italian): "Impossible to access. Make sure that your user name and
domain are correct, then digit again password respecting use of caps
characters” On the tag there is also an “OK” button which if pressed causes
the OS to normally continue booting. On background there is a grayed “Access
to Windows” with the correct username and the dots of pwd. Any hint? (I’m the
only user/admin) Thanks for helping
