Not being smart, derogative or speaking down on you, but the answer is plain
and simple: "Microsoft wrote it that way" - if you don't like the way
Microsoft wrote it you have several options:
Linux
Unix
BSD
Mac
Lastly, since you are more intelligent than most of us, write your own - we
might even buy it when you're done :-)
