Hi,
My question relates to uninstall files--starting & ending with $--when I
downloaded security patches from windows update site--typically prefixed by
KB or Q followed by a 5 digit number. There were 42 of these in the windows
directory--19 of these showed up in the add/remove programs as well. On
advice from some friends I removed these by dowloading'
xp_remove_hotfix_backup'. However only 19 got removed from the windows
directory and the balance 23 remain in the windows directory. Can I safely
delete these as well? And what are the implications or adverse consequences,
if any?
I may add that on running aida32 i found that 48 such programs--kb/q
hotfixes are actually installed on my machine--XP Home SP1,OEM vendor. Thanks
in advance.
