Once the system is clean, you can expand the file from the distribution files.
Find instances of NOTEPAD.EXE and delete them.
If you have a c:\i386 directory use the following command line...
expand C:\i386\notepad.ex_ %windir%\notepad.exe
If you don't have c:\i386 but have the winXP CDROM, use the following command line...
expand D:\i386\notepad.ex_ %windir%\notepad.exe

| THanks for the reply. This was very helpful. The two processes got rid of a
| lot of infected files. But Notepad.exe still does not work properly. This is
| what I did:
|
| I run sysclean twice with adaware. Even though the log shows that the system
| has been cleaned when I tried to run it third time it shows (again) that
| there is another virus (TROJ_AGENT.EL). What else can I do?
|
| TIA,
| Unal.
