XP Pro and Jumping Keystrokes

Seems that since I had XP installed, my keyboard has taken on a mind of its
own. As I type, it often will simply jump to a previous line of text. This
happens primarily in AOL but also has happened in Excel and Word (tables).
And -- it sends AOL messages sometimes when the cursor is simply over the
SEND key. It's as if I have some mysterious short cut key system in place.

Makes typing quite tedious.

Any thought?
