In other words, you have recently done a format/clean install of Windows
98 and cannot install the printer? Or you did a "dirty install" (over
top of itself) of Win98? If the latter, then uninstall/remove any
instance of the Epson from Win98. Make sure you have all Win98 updates
to the operating system. Then try reinstalling the Epson. Make sure you
have created a user account and password on the XP box that is
identical to the one on the Win98 box. Make sure you have set the Win98
box to log in with a user name and password and are using Client for
Windows Network and not Microsoft Family Logon.
