Did you add a new hard drive lately? This message can be caused by using a 40
wire drive cable instead of the newer 80 wire Ultra cable. If you are still
under warranty, call HP. Read this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;297185&Product=winxp
This can also be caused by a damaged file system. You can boot to your Win
XP cd to use the Recovery Console or repair XP. Important--Make sure your cd
drive is first in the boot order in bios.
