Hi Patty

If SP2 is being installed via Windows Update, it may not ba a good idea to
disable the Firewall. There are still numerous viruses out there that are
waiting for Firewalls to be dropped so that they can infect a system. I've
had no problems with installing SP2 via WU with a Firewall still enabled.
However with SP2 being made more readily available on CD - magazine cover
disks for example - it is possible to disable to any/all Firewalls now.

Certainly, any real-time AV program should be disabled in any case.
