I use Ghost 2003 and do clones once per week using six drives in mobil racks
that are rotated. In the interim, a batch file runs every hour thru Task
Scheduler to update critical files. Newly installed programs are not
included in this backup strategy, which I don't consider crucial, as they
can be reinstalled if a restore is needed. IOW, a prog installed after the
clone will need to be re-installed.
BTW, of the six rotated drives, one is kept off-site, and they all are old
drives taken out of service over the months/years (2-20's and 2-80's, and
one each 40 and 60).
The clones are bootable, and I've restored numerous times upgrading drives,
etc.
Be advised that older copies of Ghost 2003 require an update to support
SATA. My C: drive that is cloned weekly is a SATA RAID0 setup.
