John, I understand that for technical legal reasons this is what Microsoft
support must respond, but in the real world I believe this is a non-issue.
EULA (and WPA) are intended to prevent using the same copy of Windows on
multiple pcs, not to prevent a user from doing what Peter wants to do. In
fact I always install Windows a second time on my pc, or image it to another
part of my disks, and have it there as a backup in case of disaster in my
main operating system instance. I can only use one at a time, and on the
same pc, which is why I do not believe I am in violation of the spirit of
the EULA.
