As you stated it is conditional, the statement does not apply to
everyone, not even necessarily the OP.
Ken mentioned something about the additional features, nothing more
was really needed.
I did not take it to mean a specific person would be wasting money,
more generally money can be wasted by some upgrading without benefit.
The OP did not give any reason why Pro was needed other than stating
he already had the CD.
However the OP also stated "...no problems right now...", that
suggests Pro may be a waste of resources that may otherwise be
available for another computer.
As you suggest one must be careful with judgments.
The OP does not seem to need Pro, but as you also suggest, each needs
to make up their own mind with appropriate information.
