I experienced the same thing, slow boot. Actually the machine (Dell 4100)
boots just as fast, but it stops IE access of the Internet for about 70
seconds after the boot is complete. The interesting thing is that I can
initiate an search for update for antispam programs almost immediately. It
seems to be block IE access only. And there doesn't seem to be a way to add
IE to the exception list.
