cant get XP to start....HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi. Please help. Everytime i start my pc it goes straight
to a blue screen saying "massive system failure, system
has shut down". Now no matter what i press nothing
happens. This happens before i even get to a login screen.
I put the XP cd in the drive in the hope that it might
boot from that but its will only boot from the floppy.
HELP!
