Ah, but you *haven't* "... bought and paid for... " the software.
What you purchased was a _license_ (in simple English, the copyright
holder's permission) to use the software under the very specific terms
of that license. Software has been marketed in this manner for
decades, so you've no excuse not to have already known this.

As for getting a Recovery CD instead of a full OEM installation
CD, this also was entirely _your_ choice. You, and no one else,
elected to purchase an OEM installation from a computer manufacturer
who does not provide a real installation CD. The practice has been
common among low-quality OEMs for several years, now, and could easily
have been avoided if you'd done a few minutes of product research
before making the computer purchase. All you had to do was ask the
sales clerk what type of CD was included.

As for having to repurchase a Recovery CD, that's a business
choice of the computer manufacturer. Need I remind you that _you_
freely chose this manufacturer, so you presumably would have checked
the company's warranty policy -- as part of the basic product research
anyone with does before buying any product or service -- and agreed to
it before making the purchase.
