Trolling is essentially posting with the main intention of stirring up
dissent with nothing productive intended.
Most issues with SP-2 are easily resolvable with a simple
reconfiguration or update from appropriate manufacturer.
Many of these are really non events since they are expected.
Another major cause is a problem with the computer.
ALL problems whether known or unknown MUST be resolved before
installing patches especially something as extensive as a Service
Pack.

Do you mean Windows or SP-2?
In the case of SP-2 more testing was probably performed with it than
possibly any other piece of software.
However complete testing for all possible configurations is impossible
by anyone including Microsoft.
