Fixed it straight away!! Should have dawned on me it was to do with profile policies as other logons were OK. Thanks again!! Open Registry Editor and navigate to: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop] Backup the key by exporting it to a REG file. In the right-pane, delete "SCRNSAVE.EXE" entry. ------ Group Policy Editor: Screen saver executable name (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Display) (HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop) SCRNSAVE.EXE http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/2000/server/reskit/en-us/gp/gpref.asp ------ -- Ramesh, Microsoft MVP Windows XP Shell/User http://windowsxp.mvps.org "Anthony C" <capant@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote in message news:5nRbd.90020$BI5.28746@fe2.news.blueyonder.co.uk... Hi Not sure when it happened but on the display properties screensaver tab the dropdown button to select a screen saver is greyed out and is stuck on Mystify. Yes all the screen savers are installed in either c:\windows or in c:\windows\system32! Click on them independently and they work but are not selectable in the normal way as described above. Not an earth shattereing problem but an irritating niggle nonetheless! Any ideas anyone? Thanks All Anthony
