What do you mean by a server running Windows 2000 Professional? Do you
really mean a domain controller running Windows 2000 Server? Or do you have
an infrastructure network (workgroup rather than a domain) in which Windows
2000 is on one of the machines?
It sounds like an infrastructure (workgroup) network. If so, perhaps you
should run the Network Wizard on one of the XPs and create a floppy, then
run the network program from the floppy in the problem machine. If the W2k
machine is running Windows 2000 Server, then you must join the domain from
the problem machine.
