I had no Firewire nor DVD burner so I just bought an External firewire
Pioneer 108 DVD burner to burn home videos. After i burn a DVD and
then use Windows Explorer to explorer it, a message comes back saying
to insert a disk--which is already in the drawer.
If i open the drawer, then close it and wait for the disk activity
light to go out, and select from the "action" window --"Open window to
view files using Windows Explorer" all works fine. and i see the
typical Explorer tree.
Is this a quark of Firewire where the request must be initiated by the
device, or do i need to change something on my computer???
When i installed the Firewire card (VIA chipset OHCI compliant), the
directions said there is no driver to add--XP would install the
driver. Same with the External 108. i went to XP update and there
was no new driver listed for my computer.
The Device Manager does not list the Poineer 108 either--it lists some
funny CD-ROM drive---the other 2 drives are listed correctly.
any help is really appreciated,
thanks,
ron
