I have an adware gold program and I ran it after all this. It found
16 iinfections and quarantined and deleted them. I also ran a MCaffee
scan from the website and it was going for around 3 hrs. It must have
found over 2000 viruses in different files. Again they were fixed
quarantined or deleted. After all that my computer still is trashed.
I disabled antivirus software and the firewall prior to installation,
but re-enabled them post installation. It isn't just DSL though.
Even when my computer isn't plugged into the modem the processor or
hard drive is still cranking at full speed, I get constant windows
error messages, and it is slow, not exaggerating it takes about 2
minutes to open a 30Kb excel file. I guess I am going to have to bite
the bullet and take it to a computer tech and spend a stack of $$$ to
fix it. I just find it interesting that the computer worked fine and
fast with no errors prior to installing that verizon CD.
