First of all, please be carefull reading attributions. It's not
my son having problems, it's Mike's. I replied to Mike's message.

In general, there is *no* downside to having applications
installed that you don't need, other than the amount of disk
space they take up. Installing a application doesn't cause
problems, but *running* that application may.
