While there type in: explorer.exe
Your desktop and taskbar should now appear. This generally has to do with
display drivers. My utility corrects the issue as well. As for the Control
Panel, right click the Start button (once you get one), go to
Properties/Customize/Advanced/under Control Panel, select Display as a Menu.
That usually allows access when the normal method doesn't.
