I've been doing computer tech support repairs for over 14 years and sp2 is
one of the most solid service packs ever. Some may get a blue screen if
their computer is full of spyware, adware, viruses, and bad drivers, but
that has nothing to do with sp2. A good running machine will take sp2 with
no probs. Also, sp2 does not damage any programs at all. These so called
"professionals" are wrong. The "problem" is if your program needs internet
access it may not connect because the xp firewall is turned on by default
after an sp2 install. Simply configure the firewall correctly or turn it off
and your programs will work just fine. All your doing is spreading more
exaggerations.
