Around a year ago I went from 15-inch CRT to a 15-inch LCD, which cost me
round $300 bucks. I thought it was a lot to pay for a 15-inch monitor, but
the hassle it's saved me has been worth it. I've moved a couple times, and
the monitor takes very little space and weighs only a couple pounds, whereas
a CRT monitor is bulky and much more weighty. I do not really have any
problems with image fading or distortion, although it's probably only due to
the size of the monitor itself (I don't have to tilt very much as it's
rather small).

So, long story short, I personally am happy with my switch from CRT to LCD,
although I really enjoy the fact that CRT can support all sorts of different
resolutions, whereas all LCD monitors have a native resolution at which the
display appears the best. Mine is only 1024x768 and I would like mine to be
higher, but my monitor only correctly displays 800x600 and 1024x768. So, in
that respect I'm not happy, but that's one sacrifice that must be made if
you wish to go LCD.
