Unless you do maintenance on your OE folders, they will just continue to
grow in size.
Here is what I do at least bi-weekly.

With OE open, click on File, the click on Work Offline.
Go to tools, Options, then click on the maintenance tab.
Click on the " clean up now" tab, to clean up your downloaded messages.
Click on delete, to delete all the downloaded messages.
Once they are deleted, you have to compact the folders, or the size of them
will remain the same as before you deleted the messages.
Click on " compact", and then it should reduce the size considerably.
Don't forget to select " work online" again after you are done.
