This is how our mouse is configured to work. You can turn it off.
Some mouse software (vendor specific) provides this feature so that if
you have lost the mouse arrow, you can press a key (ctrl in your case)
and it displays where the mouse cursor is. My hunch is you can turn
this off with your mouse control software (look in Control Panel). For
my Microsoft wireless mouse, it's on the tab: "Pointer Options".
