Your BIOS should have monitoring capabilities for temps &
fan rotational speeds. Many motherboards also have a setting
for emergency shutdown if a sensor reaches a certain temp.
The most common sensor is for the CPU temp. I run a P-4 &
it normally runs around 128 degrees. I also have a couple of
case fans with Thermistors and they record a more ambient
temp in the case.
If you are interested in continuous monitoring with Windows
you can download a program called Motherboard Monitor.
It runs in the system tray and can be brought up to display all
the temp & fan speeds.
