Note that that KB article is not available on the MS website. This
means it was pulled by MS for some reason.

That's a silly response --- typical from tech support. SP2 can easily
be removed.

As is the case for any safe computing make sure you have a complete
system backup before doing the installation. Then if it goes wrong
restore. I use a drive imaging program and external USB HD for that
purpose.
