why is it?

that when the sound scheme fails to work,
is windows start and windows end etc
there is nothing but nothing that you
can do about it short of formatting your hd
and starting again.

unless anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it.

Also when I open windows explorer and attempt
to access a partition it closes instantly.

any clues.
