Ah, perhaps a good data point. What's the list of the non Microsoft
extensions that you had? Maybe we can narrow down the list and have
a bit more of a clue.

I don't know, but you might be surprised at some of the less than obvious
side effects of some of those extensions. But I'm a little confused
about your last sentence. Can you explain? It only disables the ones
you ask it to, doesn't it?
But then adding new software to the mix can start to muddy the water.

As one astute person wrote, with the bazillions of "features" in XP
NOBODY knows all the unseen problems they have lurking in the background,
before, or after, they install SP2.
