Actually, there is a very interesting article in this month's "Maximum
PC" magazine (based on findings by Dr. Tom of the invaluable Tom's
Hardware) that using RAID 0 for home systems for gaming *isn't
noticeably faster! This of course goes against what techies have
thought, but apparently real benchmarking proves this.
Anyway, sure - go ahead and install another hdd and try installing XP on
it if that's what you want. Since I'm a Linuxhead, I do tend to try
Linux solutions first, particularly because often when Windows won't
see files or my XP testbed box won't boot with a client's damaged hdd,
Knoppix will do the job. Whichever method works for you is the way to
go.
