Hi Chuck,
Thanks for answering. I was using a USB 2.5 HDD cradle to
access the IBM HHD. I found some software that was able
to do a type of scan disk on it and fixed whatever was
corrupted, took like 15 minutes for the software to fix
it, I now can read it and the IBM almost booted up, have a
bad ntoskrnl.exe file, which I`m copied off of another XP
system, will try it and see if the computer boots. At
least I was able to access the user`s data now. I can`t
understand people ordering a notebook without some type of
external drive for access.
